The funds for the organ, which was to cost about £1 250, were raised through parochial fundraising efforts, spearheaded by the 50-odd ladies of the "Cecilia Gang". By December 1932 they had managed to raise as much as £900 for the organ. Estey Op. 3 038 (P/II 12 1932) was handed over to the congregation and played for the first time on the evening of Friday 3rd March 1933. It was inaugurated the following evening, Saturday 4th March 1933, by the City Organist, Mr. John Connell. However, a thunderstorm prevented a large part of the audience from attending the concert. The organ was erected by Mr. AMF Tomkins of Cooper, Gill & Tomkins.
When the new buildings were built in the early 1970's, the organ (as well as the pulpit) were advertised for sale and ultimately sold to the DRC Witfield West. The organ was dismantled on February 1st 1971.
